Fundraising for 2 great causes.

For the next 6 months, in partnership with two wonderful, sustainable Australian Farms, we're running fundraising drives for Sea Shepherd and Rainforest Rescue.

During that time, when you buy a retail pack of Rainfed Biodynamic Short Grain Brown Rice, supplied by Slater Farms, 5% of sales go directly to Rainforest Rescue. When you buy a retail pack of Organic Australian Quinoa, supplied by Kindred Organics, 5% of sales go directly to Sea Shepherd.

Rainforest Rescue is a not-for-profit organisation that has been protecting and restoring rainforests in Australia and internationally since 1998 by providing opportunities for individuals and businesses to Protect Rainforests Forever. Our projects re-establish rainforests through planting, maintenance and restoration programs, as well as purchasing and protecting high conservation value rainforest and preserving its biodiversity.

RAINFED RICE is grown and milled on the family-owned Slater Farm in Northern Rivers, NSW. Brett Slater, a local Bio-dynamic certified farmer with a passion for innovative sustainable farming moved to organic farming practices in 1998 and converted to Bio-dynamic growing in 2004. Brett grew his first crop of dryland (Rainfed) rice in 2009. He then purchased and set up his own mill on the farm to produce an all-down-the line bio-dynamic grain.

We are certified organic farmers from Kindred on the North-West coast of Tasmania. Food is one of the most important inputs into good health, and food produced the organic way is how food should be in our opinion. Our Organic Quinoa is grown, harvested, cleaned and polished on our farm. We believe we are the first to have commercial quantities of organic Quinoa grown in Australia on our family farm in Kindred Tasmania.

Cheeki is an Australian owned brand that was launched with the aim of supplying safe, healthy and fun stainless steel water bottles.

The hope is to encourage a significantly reduced consumption of disposable plastic water bottles.

X-Mas Closing Times

Last orders in on SUNDAY 18th DECEMBER please.

Monday the 19th of December will be the last day of dispatch for 2011. Freight companies, etc, are also having a well deserved rest over this time, so to avoid disappointment, please have all orders in by the 18th.

If you are a customer from further afield, and stock usually takes around 10 days to arrive, then please allow for that accordingly.

We re-open our dispatch centre on Tuesday the 3rd of January 2012.

Organic In-Conversion Almonds - better for you & the planet.

The taste, texture and quality of these almonds is second to NONE!

What does In-Conversion mean?
Organic In-Conversion refers to produce that comes from an Organic farm that is in the process of its three year conversion period to becoming fully certified Organic.

After 12 months of using Organic farming methods, the produce can be labelled Organic In-Conversion. This means that the farm has been audited at least once and is abiding by all necessary Organic Certification requirements.

Why no more Insecticide Free Almonds?
We now stock Organic In-Conversion Almonds instead. We hope this decision supports more growers to convert to Certified Organic production methods - better for us all.

The term "Insecticide Free" is very loosely used and could be misinterpreted. In reality, it does not guarantee that other types of non-organic sprays have been applied, either during growing or processing, or that the almonds have not been fumigated during storage. Without a certification process, the claim is very difficult to validate, thus we felt that it was too misleading to continue to support.
